Hi, Im about ready to paint the engine block, the intake manifold, elbows and so on. The thing i did not do, was to get the paint mixed back when i had the chance to compare color, bummer Is it a standard color, with a code? All the best, Henrik

Hi, the colour and the code are on the site somewhere in the listings.
Big Kev.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well what a coincidence so am i and Ive been given the colour numbers as: c-71 ep7 rover blue/Grey, as previous m010156/d010217. I hope this makes sense to the paint people.
I have this information from a very long time member of the club who has his engine parts painted and it does look the correct colour.
Kev. Why not be a real rebel and paint the whole lot in Morris Minor Green? Half the club members will then have heart attacks!!
But as it's your car you can do what you want with it!

Not saying you shouldn't, but is it a good idea to paint the engine block? Won't the paint break down faitly quickly with all of the oil and other fluids? Once it does start to break down won't it look shabby very quickly?
I'm sure it'll look great initially though!
Whatever you do, don't paid the inside of the valley like some silly billy did as shown on the RPI website though. It caused complete engine failiure in a very short time by blocking the oil ways!

Massey Ferguson grey is a good alternative, but unless you have had the block acid dipped, I would not bother, the paint just will not stay on there.

The best thing to do with alloy heads and block is to leave them alone, its the way they left the factory.
Painted heads and block will always deteriorate and eventually look shabby, trust me.
