Can any forum viewer identify where the part shown below should fit in a P5B? Is it anything to do with the front seat runner attachment? regards

IIRC that's a carpet retainer to stop the footwell carpets sliding forwards. But then again, I may have dreamt that....

So where does it go, up on front bulkhead or is it an alternative / replacement for the spring clip at the rear edge? Anyone got a photo of it / them in place?

First, let me apologise for submitting this query in the wrong section, it should of course be in the 3.5 litre part of the forum. On my 1969 coupe the footwell carpet retaining clips are nothing like those in the original query. They are all like this: Was the design changed during the production run?

I have the same type as yours in my 1970 Saloon. Vicious little baskets they are too! I've released most of them but they have left impossible to remove rust stains on the carpets. Didn't the club produce a batch of SS ones a few years back?

Naughty Glenn! I'll have to send them back and get him to add some springiness.

Naughty Glenn! I'll have to send them back and get him to add some springiness. I know there are other grades of SS used in spring making Warwick but they may not be available in sheet? and whether the same grade could be punched out ("if sheet was available?") how long would the tooling last Just had a Google 301 and 420 grade SS are spring grade in sheet form the 420 is available in annealed form so would still have to be hardened afterwards, then how stable would it be when lifted to fit the carpet? may be too brittle? it would need time and ££'s to do a few batch runs to "maybe" get the correct spring effect.

I bought some springy stainless carpet clips from Wadhams a few years ago.

I have these on my 1970 coupe. I think the went under the seat rail to retain the overmats.
They were removed but not refitted, I seen one in the garage yesterday.
