Following on from the now locked thread of the same title.
Yesterday I borrowed a thermal imaging camera to see if it woud help diagnose if there was a misfire. I started the car to pull it out of the garage and it ran really smoothly.
When revved the vibration was barely detectable so I took it for a run (on the salty roads!)thinking the vibration would return when it warmed up as possibly it was due to an electrical issue but it didn't return to the scuttle shaking level it was at before.
Now more confused than ever.

I for one am delighted that it just works. The improvement may well be due to one of the many things you did to the engine.

Perhaps like an errant child, it just needed some time out (to think about it)!

I'd like to think so but the last time I ran it the bad vibration was still present and I have not touched it (apart from parking it back in its more usual place in the garage) since.

It's a Result Alan that's all that matters "well done"

Thanks John but I don't think it is a result. I fully expect the vibration to return at some point and I REALLY want to know what is causing it and to resolve it.
