May I suggest that instead of using the Kenlowe thermostat switch which is rather ugly and uses a copper balloon filled with ether (I think) that you have to tuck inside the top hose and trail a caplliary tub back to the thermostatic usnit, that you purchase a fan thermostat from the MG Owners club. The MG version is cut into the top hose and is much smaller and neater and more durable. you can just about see the one fitted to my car in the front right corner of this picture:

Forget Kenlowe, buy a Pacet instead. If you insist on mounting it through the rad fins (which is BAD news) they are much lighter, so are less likely to tear the a**e out of the rad core.
Get a 16 inch one too..........moves a LOT more air, which surely is the whole point of the exercise ?

Pacet, Kenlowe or fan from scrap Citroen, any electric fan installation is a good thing in my book. As long as it is well fitted and wired correctly (and neatly) it makes all the difference. I removed my engine driven fan and have never regretted it. Cheers Freddy
