Having re-painted the boot i find that the boot decal wont hold tight to the paintwork. It appears that there a some tiny plastic plugs to be inserted in the boot in order that the lugs on the lettering can wedge in tightly, perhaps like a rawl plug in a hollow panel. National inquiries have failed to find these and i don't want to glue them in just in case it needs to be removed again in the future. Not illustrated in the parts or how-to manuals. The Mk1 badge is one slim piece, not the chunky ones in later P5Bs

I don't know if my P5 3-litre is that peculiar, but i don't see the part on JRW website so i will have to phone him on his return. The Bresco link kindly supplied shows quite a few but I guess the badge will need to be removed again to determine the hole diameters. I have now found a reference in the parts catalogue p326/7 which states part 56 to be the name plate but then describes four plain and spring washers and UNC nuts which suggests a bolts. I don't see any thread on the nibs that I can view from the outside. Any internal fixing is not visible because of the boot reinforcing bars and cant therefore be applied! C'est la vie!

Advised to ignore the parts book which shows 4 nuts/spring washers. My man popped the 3 lugs through the holes and offered up small spring washers on the end of a socket spanner - job done. My thanks to those who showed an interest in this problem.
