This is not a criticism just an observation. My post on which cylinders dropped out to the next page when Richard put up his post on shocks, so it's unlikely that I would get any more replies not many will look to the next page. The same will happen to Richards post if another post is posted even if it's only been posted for a few hours. This is because of the sticky post which leave no room on the page (I think.) Not much can be done about it!!!

I only ever use the 'Recent Threads' choice when visiting the forum. That way I can pick up anything new from anywhere on the forum rather than visiting every section to see what's new.

As you say,not much can be done. If I am right I can extend the number of posts per page, so though it will not prevent posts moving on to the next page, it will delay the inevitable. Don't forget you can also click on 'Recent Threads'.

Im sorry Norvin I do not understand your thread.
If I go to RECENT THREADS I get 25 threads come up which go back to May. Any thread I have not visited has a flag saying NEW. This all on the same page with a little scrolling.

Don't forget you can also click on 'Recent Threads'. Hello, Can't see the problem I'm afraid Norvin. I have "Recent Treads" set up as one on my multiple startup pages for Firefox and there it is to view after Firefox starts up. The number of pages on that thread is clearly shown and even stays in one place when you scroll the page. Some topics are many pages long, so can you imagine how large that page would be if all the post were on one page. You would still have to scroll the page and you would be there for ever. Cheers Colin

This all on the same page with a little scrolling. I do not believe members use recent threads or not many. once a post goes to the next page you notice you get no more hits or very few so that tells me most members just scroll down the the site and look at the latest post. Take Richards post on shocks if that goes to the next page because another member post then I think that very few members would bother with it or see it. Yes I know what you say about recent threads but the number of hits a post gets once it goes to the next page tells me otherwise.

I see where you coming from Norvan,. But how many replies would need to get the answer you are looking for? I have learnt something else with your thread. Thank you.
To be honest I never really thought about the supply to the cylinders before. I just use the first two pots either side for colour tuning so the problem nether arose

I do not believe members use recent threads or not many. I also use 'Recent Threads' each time I visit the forum and see plenty of threads stretching back quite a few weeks.

I use an RSS reader which means I get all postings sent to me rather than me going to find them. In this way I never miss anything. The reader I use is called Feedreader and I can recommend it. It is simple to use and the icon in the tray changes colour when a new item appears. I use it for multiple sites including BBC news, various car sites and computer sites.

Tried setting this up but feedreader doesn't recognize the url roverp5.proboards.com. You say it is simple to use but there seems to be more to it than I can understand. Please elucidate! Thanks.

The forum has a dedicated RSS feed address. It is roverp5.proboards.com/rss/publicMost websites have a link to their RSS feed or you can do a search within Feedreader when you set up a new feed.
