I'm starting a restoration of a P5B Saloon. The car is LH drive and I think that has been resprayed not the original colour. Where do I see the reference color of fabrication? Where can I get more info about export cars? Last question: how many PB5 Saloon LH Drive where made? Thanks

I would recommend you get a copy of James taylors book on the P5 as it is a very comprehensive source of data especially with what is on this this forum and in the club mag Take 5
The club stocks them and its essential reading a all P5 enthusiasts.
Visit the website - link above for more details
Welcome to the forum anyway, tell us more about your car

I presume when you say 'fabrication' you mean the interior colours. P5b's came in the following interior colours :- Buckskin ( cream colour): Saddletan ( mid brown): Mulberry (dark red) Ebony (black): Good luck identifying the colour.

The interior colour is buckskin, and the exterior is bordeaux. Thanks for the references about books and the club, I will surely need all the help I can get, especially from this forum. Quick story about the car: It was one of two classic that my father owned. The 1969 Rover P5B and a 1950 Riley 1 1/2 Litre. The P5B suffered 20 years ago a crash that damaged all the front. My father loved that car and he wanted to restore it, but he died, and the car stand stopped in a garage all this time. I decided now to do the job. Already talked with David Green for spare parts. Today i just finished to put air on the tyres and roled the car. Heavy, but it moved. Next February I´m moving the car to the garage where the work will begin. Want to put a photo, but dont know how. Going to start from the engine and all mechanics and after body and interiors. I think that all rubbers, seals, hoses, etc, must be replaced. Any thoughts about that? It has been 20 years. Sorry about the looonnng text. Of course I´m joining the Club. Thanks

I hope you can get it sorted - you will need to change the the brake rubbers/hoses etc and the cooling ones as including those to the rear heater.
As to posting pictures see teh the thread - it explains it as clearly as possible - I did it!

Good luck with your restoration. ScarlettWill

Leather needs a certain amount of humidity. A bowl of water may help, like you would do with a piano. Feed it with Connollys saddle soap.(not the piano)

G'day Miguel,
You've got a fair bit of work ahead of you, but she'll be a magnificent car when it's finished and you can take it for a spin for your Dad and relive a few memories.
Are those tyres on it crossplies?
Warwick. Nice Riley, by the way. I always fancied them too.

Sorry but I've got a problem with my technical English. Crossplies? Translate please. The same with MOT? and others. English is not my mother language, so feel free to translate everything technical.

Your English seems as good as ours!
Crosspllies refere to the Tyre construction - old fashioned tyres have the width size in inches and are always Xplies like thestandard P5/P5B uses eg 6.70" x 15"
Modern safer radial ply construction have width in mms eg teh nearest equivalent to teh P5B size is 185SR x 15"
X ply tyers wear much quicker and not so safe in the wet. They are expensive and hard to get as wel.
Use SEARCH set to 1000 days for loads of information

Hi Miguel, I've just looked at some of your pictures of the car. Last week I put a front slam panel (the part the bonnet latches onto) out for the rubbish. Its the same colour as yours and is rust free, I just don't need it. Its your for the price of the postage and packing if you are interested or I will throw it away! regards Roy
