Almost right size but being 8 ply they are van tyres so are not suitable The "C" stands for commercial I think so the speed rating is far too low S is the minimum. Do not touch
Use Search set to 1000 days - remember using incorrect/unsuitable tyres invalidates your insurance which you will not of course find out until a claim is made

I was amazed what tyres was on my old girl when I looked at them in 96 Phil I had 3 radials and 2 crossply one a monster commercial 8 ply for a spare I suppose in the 70's it was what was available or as a young family man probably what I could afford

Thanks for the advice. The ones on there now have a 'c' suffix and look rather large, I am beginning to think they are commercial ones.I have checked the forum and taking on board (excuse the pun!) all the information i.e like speedo suspension and power steering issues.I feel I will search for 185/80 15 in decent car tyres .......Incidentally I did come across the Hankook brand ones in that size at a reasonable price and also vredstein classics somewhere along the line. Thanks Again

Vederstein, Hankook, or Khumo are perfectly adequate using the 185/80/15 size. The easiest to get witll be either Hankook or Khumo.

I think everyone did things differently years ago with tyres and much else as well but the roads were a lot less congested and insurance companies far less picky and keen to apply the "utmost good faith" caluse whereby the whole claim is rejected if a material fact is not notified even when it has nothing to do with the claim.
Did anyone see that program last night on TV about insurance fraud?
BTW I thought Kumho's unless old stock have ceased be available in 185 x 15 so that leaves only Hankooks and Vredestiens in budget price range - all three being excellent tyres

Thanks everyone for the help.In the end I went for Hankooks .I bought them from Camskill performance on the web (very reasonable) and had them put on at my local tyre depot.Only trouble now car is still pulling to the right so back to drawing board! Not too bad though as I needed new tyres anyway.
