Hi, Is it possible to see good photos (more tham one angle if possible) of a saloon in the following colours: - Silver Birch (solid?) - Burnt Grey (solid?) - Bordeaux
Were these three colours, done with buckskin interior? Thanks Miguel

Hi, Len, Dont know the way John didi it, but I' ve open an account (free) in photobucket.com/ and uploaded there my photos and after a quick link here. John, Thanks. That´s a beatifull one tone Coupe. My P5B originaly was Burnt Grey. Previous owner have resprayed it Bordeaux, (found the bonnet plate with the colors ID and Burnt Grey was scratched). I assume this as original, since i dont known nothing about the history of the car. It can be that that part has been replaced... I doubt that. In the papers of the car is grey. One thing is for sure: it has Buckskin interior. The request of photos is for helping me decide. I´ve got time to mature that idea. Thanks, Miguel

My Avatar is of a solid Silver birch saloon - any interior was done but silver Birch generally came came with Black or Mulberry seats although mine was Saddle Tan. Others have come with Buckskin though but not many

Can't see Phil´s avatar either. Anyway, Phil, don't you have a bigger picture. If any changes to the colour would be made, right now, Silver Birch is my favorite...right now... Must see an persuasive Burnt Grey. I also don't now if my current Bordeaux is factory made. Thanks Miguel

A really big disadvantage with SB in the UK on a car that's used all year round is rust and road-film staining. The picture is there at my end and on "Guest" view but here it is in full! Taken 12 years ago though - I have others on old photo's which I can scan in but quality is not brilliant. I sold the car on in 2001

Sorry not very good at pictures but at least it give ssome unusual views. Note Rover never offered metallics and in my opinion lighter colours on saloons especially make the car look bulky. Two tone 3 litres Mk1 & 2 look better than 2 tone Mk3 and V8's hich often have the roof a different colour or even worse using the wide trim strip

I agree. Solid light colours dont really benefit this car. I love light colots in cars. White being the favorite. If Burnt Grey was mettalic it would be much better ?? You can always wax till your arms fall off: and still be faithfull to the original (only wax). Still waiting for the BG and BRX colours photos... Looking at the picture of your saloon, I noticed that you have the mirror on the wing. I´ve noticed that in the coupes and thought it was one of the differences. Well mine is near the vent glass: i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii77/miguelp5b/L1110520.jpgIs it original? Miguel

No exterior mirrors were standard on UK models - Rover offered a variety over the years both wing and later on for the doors.
Many were fitted as with mine by later owners and on this one in the "wrong" place on the wide part of the middle of both front wings. This meant I had to fit longer arms (used for towing by Magnatex/Tex) to make them of any use. The correct place is on the top of the curved peak about 1/3rd back from the sidelight.
Younger owners used to modern cars prefer door mounted one(s) - I removed the door mounted one on my Coupe to fit wing types as I prefer these!

Phil, At last your avatar makes sense to me.
Miguel, My car was originally Burnt Grey too, but the previous owner sprayed it Bordeaux and metallic silver.
I don't yet know if it was 2-tone originally. The interior is Buckskin.
