Can I remind everyone that any attachments added to your posts must not exceed 150kb, per image. Any that exceed this file size, may be removed.
Thanks.

Welcome back, Len. Click on this link and it will take you to the first page of threads in this ROVERING section of the forum. roverp5.proboards.com/board/6/roveringThe link just takes you back one step from where you are now, reading this. Look at the green header strip across the top of the column of other threads. The name of the section (ROVERING) is at the left-hand end. A dark red button (CREATE THREAD) is at the right-hand end. Click on that button and repeat what you did when creating the post to which I'm replying. What may have confused you is that each entry is called a Post, but a group of Posts is called a Thread. So you need to create a new thread in which to make your post on a new topic. I hope that all makes sense.

Can I again remind everyone to keep the file attachments sizes to no more than 150kb. Any files exceeding this size, will unfortunately have to be removed. With some of the photos now being posted, the maximum allowance is almost full. If we need to increase our storage capacity, the club will be charged for the privilege. That's OK for club members as we are using their monies, but in doing so they will be subsidising those forum members who are not club members.
Thanks

Sorry I was not knowing about the size limit for the pics, the ones I recently posted might have caused the problem. Mauro

Hi Mauro, thanks for letting me know.
I use Irfanview, a free photo editing software , to reduce sizes. ;-)

Do not be confused between picture size and file size.
If you save a picture as a jpg, there will be an option to reduce "quality" which might reduce a file size from several megabytes to a hundred or so kB. The picture will appear the same size, but with marginally less detail visible.
A useful ball park for displaying here is 800x600 and 50% "quality".

What happened?
When I last posted some pictures here by adding as an attachment, I could put 3 pictures in each post. Now I can only attach one.
I realise that pictures take storage space, and storage space costs money which club members kindly pay. However, I am very careful to keep my files small. The ones I wish to post on my thread are between 25 and 50 Kb.
If the new limit of one picture per post was a considered action, can I suggest instead that the permitted file size be reduced to 100 Kb or less instead.
I am reluctant to outsource my photos again after the Photobucket debacle.

I would be happy to contribute to the cost of the website, and so followed the link to pay a membership subscription (around AUD100). As a recent editor of the magazine for our local club, I am well aware that 80% of our membership fees used to go on printing costs of our magazine. I am guessing the same is true for this club too, and the extra cost of overseas membership is due to international postage rates. For that reason, we moved to email delivery of our magazine only. The number of objectors was less than the fingers of one hand, and our finances are in a much better state.
Might I suggest offering an email delivery option of the magazine for those overseas? Say (pounds)25 or 30?

I hope you get valet service with that considering the price quoted. At £6500 ($11,564.80 AUD) they're obviously going to gold plate the rocker covers and various other bits and pieces to add to the bling factor of the finished engine.
It truly makes me wonder Christophe, just what actually broke so catastrophically in your coupe's engine to render it so completely unrepairable? I'm sure there's someone on the forum here that could either source a suitable engine for you or perhaps even repair the existing one.
You really do need to expand on your comment, "I broke my P5B coupé Rover 1971 engine..." and perhaps elaborate on what broke or how it got broken.

I rebuilt my engine in 2018 with the help of a local engineering shop. I spent about £3k from memory. The build was heavy on parts because the valve gear was knackered. Cam, followers, push rods, rockers, rocker shafts all replaced. Also upgraded to SD1 heads and machined block for rear lip seal. Didn’t need a rebore or pistons though. Hope this gives you an idea of what you might spend….
