i have just had a unusual thing happen when fitting new ht cables, i could not use the Lucas disi cap fitted it's been rough treated and three of the terminal screws have been butchered and cant be backed off, so i decided to use what looks like a new re-pro cap with no name on it that was in the boot in a plastic bag i backed the screws off pushed the cable in the cap and as i tightened the screw to make the connection with the cable it forced the terminal out of it's socket in the cap. i don't know if this is a common problem or just a sub standard re pro distributor cap. now i need to order a new distributor cap.

i have been checking and i found a new old stock genuine Lucas distributor cap so i have ordered it from someone called classic rovers in Derbyshire, plus this is the first cap that used this screw side fitting connection iv'e seen so it took me by surprise when it happened, god knows where this copy was made.
