The job of swapping the rear for the front isn't that simple, I know from experience if the Cog box is knackered so is the quadrant or vica verca (its not worth doing one without the other it will last 5 mins)! to remove the quadrant you have to remove a rivet then grind off the spigot with the slot then punch it through the arm and the cog box being very careful not to ruin the plate. After doing the same on the rear you then swap the quadrants which is larger on the rear so you have to have the correct number of teeth (Making sure it's the correct way round as it's not flat!) the spigot (and cog box) must be in the correct position before replacing and re-welding otherwise the return spring will not do the job correctly, plus the arm of the mechanism has to be welded the the quadrant, also the rear cog/winder plate is a different profile to the front and has to be bent into shape.
