Hi All Can you please ensure your photos do not exceed 250kb when uploaded. We are limited by the amount of storage space available to this forum which means that it only needs a number of 'large' file to be attached for the space to become full. I have had to remove a number of these files. Warwick has kindly posted a link on my previous request which may help roverp5.proboards.com/thread/9326/adding-attachments-postsOr, this one which also works well www.irfanview.com/Thanks

Due to the large number of large files being posted lately, I have had to edit some to ensure we have sufficient space on this forum. Please ensure your files are no larger than 250kb, otherwise they are likely to be removed. Thanks.

I have wondered why a question posted is often repeated in the answers given. Also the image often fills the monitor and if batched you can scroll down pages until you pass them to the next text panel A small image that you can open and enlarge is better in my view than paging down until the next post is shown.

Good point, Eric. Many people still don't realise that you can reply to a post without quoting it. Or that if you do need to quote so that your reply makes sense, you can easily remove parts of the quoted post to avoid unnecessary repetition.

Get yourself the program PMVIEW (image editing). 1) resize everything to 800x600 2) save as .jpg with 50% "quality".
It will be rare that the image size exceeds 100kb.

I do not use Windows 10, so I cannot comment on windows Paint, but the important thing is to save the picture as a jpg with reduced quality.
A 800x600 picture can easily be 500kB if detailed and saved at full quality.

And the other thing to remember is not to save as a jpeg any photo you wish to keep on your computer. Save these photos as tiff files otherwise Windows, in its wisdom, will kindly compress them for you to save hard-drive space, without first asking permission.
For example, you may have some important family photos of around say 2 or 3MB each, stored safely on your computer. It may be a long time since you've looked at them. Then when you eventually go back to look at them you may well discover that they are now only about 30kB to 100kB in size and completely unviewable if displayed at more than about 1/2 postcard size. If you have them stored on a CD or DVD, then they are safe from Windows but make sure the discs are safely stored away from moisture, light, and excessive heat. If you want to keep them on the computer, external hard-drive, or memory stick, make sure they are in tiff format, or you have back-up copies in tiff format.
