I believe some time ago a member was bemoaning the fact that when fitting the rear bumper it caused scratches on the rear wings. This is due to the sheer weight of the bumper and the unwieldy process getting it lined up. Having done this operation many times, I have found out that if you fit a couple of socks on each end, that's four in total you won't do any damage.

Wish I'd thought of that when I fitted my bumper. Why didn't I ask my wife to help me fit it?

What sort of socks ? Cotton rich ? Lycra ? Thermal ?
Ankle length ? Knee high ?
Does the colour matter ? Or patterned maybe ?
Always dissapointing to get a good tip, but with only half the information !
Seriously though, what a great idea !
