Hi i am in the process of fitting a Lucas A127 alternator i have managed to sort all the wiring out thanks to Peter but i have it's a white and brown wire which is quite a thick wire i have traced it back through the loom it goes under the dash where it connects to another large white and brown and both of the wires connect to 4 x white and brown wires what i was wondering is the large white and brown wire from the alternator end should it be connected to one of the positive terminals on the new Lucas A127 alternator as i have wired one of the 2 x larger terminals on the alternator to the solenoid the small terminal to the ignition via an ignition light and is it correct to wire the white and brown wire to the other large spade terminal on the alternator i would appreciate somebody's experience with the wiring on these cars as the manual i have does not help me at all thank you Colin.

Colin,
I assume that you have a Brown wire with a white stripe running from the alternator to the diversion point. That wire you can use to Connect with the A127 as this diversion point with the 6 or steven cables attached is connected to the starter solenoïd and the battery. Make sure that all the cables and connectors are in good condition as this area is not protectief by fuses.
