And finally she`s arrives. First P5/P5B on road in this small lovely northern country. This is second P5B I ever seen (previous was Queen car in Heritage Motor Centre - and first I ever drive.) Still amazed how perfectly is this car done!!!
So, now I am owner of very nice original P5B with 76 000 confirmed miles. People turning they heads and looks back to her.
Many thanks to the one of forum members, who kindly sold it to me and delivers to port terminal in Harwich, where it was shipped to my country. It was very honest deal what we reached by email never seen each other)

Welcome to the Forum Denis23. I should think it would turn a few heads as it must be the only one in Estonia/ Baltic states. Nice to hear the transfer from England to Estonia went well. The Rover car does tend to attract a honest/helpful owner. Your English is excellent. I have sent you a PM. GlennR

Thank you Glenn, it`s definitely head turner)
I just wondering what people say when see it:
"wow, what a nice Volvo Amazon"))
Rumours is that here is one other P5 somewhere in many years long restoration process, but nobody seen it on the road.

Well, hard job starts - nearside sill and part of the D-post is cleared until the bare metal (or until the holes), so lot of filler becomes dust, that`s a strange tradition to put filler over rust, but we will fix it.
So, car painter will give his proposal for repainting whole car - will see, may be try to invest some more money, but bring car to the excellent condition.
Hovewer, what it cost to respray car in UK - w/o full dissassembling, only outside, with removing only trim etc?

The well known tradition of putting filler and at one time body solder is longstanding and accepted in some quarters, in others it is called Bodging

And now car is in workshop, where hard job starts - make clear alls problematic places to bare metal, cut off, mould new parts and weld.
Well, after that we decided to paint it over - 100%. Just shaked the hands. Car is worth it - just discovered another 100% rebuilded thing - brakes all around.

Well, now some time has been passed away. Works on Rover is slowly going on. Now it`s stripped to bare essentials, with half of the car storaged in big veneer boxes in the workshop`s corner. Other half of the car is still in one peace lifted up and guys curing it spending loads of electrodes. Well, actually, there is no any significant inner rust. Some spots on inner wings and inner seals and some crossmembers. I am bit scary about how they will assemble it once agin, but guys told me that I should not worry. Next week welding will be finished, therefore, I beleive within 2-3 weeks works will be complete. Guys have lot other jobs and I should appreciate this. Attachments:

Well, well.
And now finally welding had been done.
No any corrosion left to the body. All things has been fixed and left on photo.
One sill is replaced completely and one partially. Plus all body outer panels repaired - wings, door lower metal etc. On the inner structure we replaced over 20 patches, with size from matchbox to cigarette pack.
So, thats a big job done.
Despite I like how JRW make their job, they sent me 2 nearside body sills, instead of the both side kit. As second sill dont needs replacement, I did not made any issue on it.

Well, there is been crazy icey and snowy winter in our village:) so, Rover`s workshop was desperately overloaded with endless pipeline of the orders from road insurance companies. That`s the reason, why Rover was almost untouched since the middle of November. But now work starts slowly moving forward. Good news for all Rover lovers that my P5B now have it restoration blog. Unfortunately it`s on russian, but there is loads of pictures and now everybody is welcome to tell what he thinking about this here. It`s here: www.drive2.ru/cars/rover/p5/p5_b/kolomenski/journal/What else can I say, that I am amazed how complicated and let`s say overengineered is Rover body inner structure. All this closed and half-closed cavityes is so vulnerable for rust and quite painhead to repair. And what is more interested, that inner sills of P5B is unfinished at all - no coat. It`s interesting, that they didnt emerged bodies to the bath with primer before painting. What ever - enjoy photos.

Are you a pioneer? Is this the first Russian language P5 web site?

Well, and finally they did this - they painted my Rover. We used exact paint code, but I am not sure, does it looks like original Zircon Blue or not, but what ever, I am VERY SATISFIED. The paint is SHOW QUALITY, absolutely flat and silky surface, even before beeing polished. Not like most new car paint "chicken skin". Well, now we gonna to assemble the car, and I am pretty sure, we lost some parts already, so I probably will need some help from the kind forum members:) More pictures in my blog. Perhaps it is on the russian, but you can see a lot of pictures;) www.drive2.ru/cars/rover/p5/p5_b/kolomenski/journal/

Well, Rover is slowly but steady moving forward.
Now assembling begun, alongside with complete interior refurbishing.
Here you can see JRW supplied floor mats alongside with the custom made side panels.
Furflex we used for this job is not completely matching, but very, very close to the original.

Well guys. Life is the art of compromises ;D We dont have Woolies next door here. So, for the B-pillar trim we used headliner of of LR Series 2 which is passing nut and bolt restoration in the same workshop Seal around the doors is also refurbished. Looks quite original

Fortunately, at least we have enough cows and pigs - so here we got completely matching natural leather, as for central panel too.

Seats is going to the completely rebuild.
Previous guys tried to make it by own hands - looked really sadly.
This mistake will be not repeated - moulded pads from the 1965 Ford Mustang will be used. It fits better than original ;D
