Can someone by any chance tell me how thick the chip foam should be in the seat bases of a P5B coupe? There is so little of mine left (not unusual, I know) that I am having trouble estimating the measurement.

Many thanks indeed. I had almost talked myself into it being 3" but will purchase 4" and cut it down - it seems to come in 1" increments.
I had wondered whether to lay a 1" thick mid-density foam over the top of the dunlopillo sections to compensate for any loss of dimension over the years. Your suggestion of stuffing foam into the holes in the dunlopillo makes much more sense.
I have now finished hand-stitching all the seams to the covers - a seriously tedious job - but I am very happy with the results. Now to order the foam and get on with fitting!

Every inch counts, as the actress said to the Bishop. LOL
