Reading through this thread it seems to me that 'original' to most people (including myself) means 'standard', ie not necessarily all original parts, but those replaced having been replaced with same pattern. This still means that there are not many 'standard' cars left, my 3litre for example has radial tyres, a rubber tube around the HT leads, a six-bladed water pump impeller, a 3 core radiator, JRW steering pump, and a rubber patch on the carpet adjacent the dip switch, a stainlesss steel exhaust and ... Well may be it isn't that far off 'standard', certainly very little differs visually!

Thanks for the coments ! OK Roy, when it rains and I have time to tackle this tecnology. Incidentaly, changing the pipes for copper ones was a total waste of time as there was nothing wrong with the old ones, although we are often told that they can rust from the inside due to moisture in the fluid.

Speaking of fluid George, I'm pretty sure that your washer fluid is a few shades lighter than Rover's original and lets not even start on your brake fluid and coolant ;D Ian

The brake fluid is silicone, so it is mauve ! You cannot see the coolant, but it is pink (!) as it is Halfords 5 year. ;D
